The unveiling of the world’s first public Pastafarian shrine is scheduled for Saturday, September 27 at 3 p.m. The sculpture was created by artist Bartosz Banasik of the Słaboszów commune, who said:
I love spirituality in its broadest sense. I’ve created many religious objects, primarily for Christian denominations. When a representative of the Flying Monster Church contacted me, I learned the history of this initiative. I said, ‘Why not?’
The anonymous founder of the local Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, a resident of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, explained:
The facility is part of the tradition of Ponidzie, a region of a thousand shrines. There are numerous so-called ‘holy places’ here, representing various denominations. We have all the necessary permits and documents. We have also written a letter to the village head and the local community, explaining our ideas. Residents should not feel threatened.
