The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors …
The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors represents the life’s work of pioneering visionary artists Alex and Allyson Grey. After outgrowing their New York City studio in 2009, the Greys moved to the small town of Wappingers Falls in the Hudson Valley.
CoSM is now a campus-like arrangement in the woods, including the Grey House – a huge, 1860s-vintage mansion; Entheon, a combination transdenominational temple, museum and art gallery; and a nature/art walk called the Wisdom Trail, as well as administrative buildings, studio spaces and a large outdoor ritual area.

There are many worse landscapes through which to make one’s way.
We were lucky enough to be able to visit CoSM during the height of Fall 2025, when the forests were painted in every conceivable hue from green through to scarlet, and to be able to stay overnight in one of the B&B-style rooms in the Grey House. Here follows a visual memoir of our time in this extraordinary place.

The Grey House, which serves as the nerve center of CoSM.

The ground floor features several large halls used as lecture and workshop spaces, also containing library collections and many works of psychedelic and visionary art.

Altars and shrines abound.

The Grey House dining hall at night. The Hall could seat about 60 people.

The extremely trippy Mushroom Cafe, where we purchased some non-entheogenic but very tasty spiced mushroom chips.

An archway leading to the large ritual space outside the Grey House, where Full Moon Ceremonies and other events are held.

This pond is home to a collective of hippie frogs.

The stones marking the labyrinth were almost buried by fallen leaves, but it was still walkable.

CoSM hosts many gatherings including Art Church events, the monthly Full Moon Ceremonies, seminars, music performances, weddings and such. It is strongly recommended to anyone with an interest in the potentials of the CultPunk/Poetic Faith/countercultural spirituality phenomenon.
